 in December 2008 for US$675m Gateway Communications use satellite, sub sea cable (including SEACOM), wireless and fibre connectivity. The company is now 65% owned by Vodafone since Vodafone increased its share in Vodacom.

They have 21 offices in 17 African countries as well as 4 European countries.
Gateway Communications has invested in several sub-sea cables, some of which include SEACOM, EASSy, WACS and SAT3.

Gateway Communications owns and operates the largest and most advanced pan-African telecommunications network.

Gateway Communications was the first company to invest in SEACOM, which is bringing 1.28 Tbit/s of capacity to the continent.
