Early life

It took Gail nearly 50 years to realize that an inspirational comment from her third grade teacher would be enough proof that she was indeed “…an excellent writer.”
Now as an award-winning author of over forty novels and a million books in print, Gail can sit back and chuckle at her early writings. As a pre-teen, she wrote a series of Nancy Drew-type mysteries, and in her teen years, she wrote romances. As an aspiring young author, she didn’t realize romance needed a happy ending. Too often, the heroine was killed off at the end.

Career

Gail formatted several Christmas programs for her church and submitted them to CSS Publishing in September 1994 which started her career in writing. She received her first book contract in January 1995, six months before she retired from her school counselor position at Madison High School

Family

Born and raised in Michigan, Gail lives with her husband, Bob, who she considers to be her greatest fan, who also happens to be her proofreader. Along with writing, Gail enjoys music, and she especially enjoys singing as a soloist and choir member at her church; she is a member of the Detroit Lutheran Singers. Gail also plays handchimes and handbells.
