Established in 1928, GHD employs more than 6000 people across five continents and serves clients in the global markets of water, energy and resources, environment, property and buildings, and transportation.

The company employs engineers, architects, planners, scientists, project managers and economists to deliver sustainable outcomes to clients and communities around the world.

GHD is a member of the World Business Council for Sustainable Development and operates under a Practice Quality Management System, ISO 9001: 2008 and an Environmental Management System, ISO 14001:2004 which are certified by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.

Significant projects and achievements

Significant projects undertaken by the company include the design of the Sydney Opera House facade, land-use and infrastructure master plans of the Palm Islands in Dubai, and event overlays for the Sydney and Beijing Summer Olympics.

More recently, GHD was engaged as the independent verification and testing agency (IVTA) to provide technical advice on concrete, steel and other specialist building materials for the world's tallest building, the Burj Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates.

GHD was ranked 42nd in Engineering News Record (ENR)'s 2009 Top 150 Global Design Firms (Based on Total Firm Design Revenue) .

GHD was ranked 53rd in Engineering News Record (ENR)'s 2009 Top 200 International Design Firms (Based on Design Revenue from Projects Outside Home Country) .
