In 1993, Daniel was becoming more well known, Elektra Records offered Daniel to sign onto their label, it was a pretty good deal for Daniel, he discovered that Metallica was on the label, and was under the assumption that Metallica was possessed by Satan and would hurt Daniel, he ended up firing his manager because he believed that his manager was possessed as well, he eventually signed onto Atlantic Records, and released 'Fun' while he was staying in a mental institution, the album was a commercial and critical failure, and within two years of the album's release date, Johnston was dropped from the Atlantic Records label in 1996.
