Vincent Price's opinion of the movie

Vincent Price disliked the movie. In a letter to German actor and puppeteer Gerd J. Pohl, Price wrote: You're right about "From a Whisper to a Scream" - terrible! My agent misrepresented it and I was trapped in it. However, before filming, Vincent Price readily agreed to star in it because he was impressed with the confidence in the director, who was just a young and new filmmaker at the time.

Production

The movie was filmed during the periods of 1985, and 1986, and was finally released in 1987. During filming, Vincent Price's scenes for the framing story were the last to be filmed.
