. Named for a native son, the school serves about 1550 students in grades 9 to 12 in the Hyde Park Central School District. The original high school building(now a middle school) was erected as a Depression-era public works project, and graduated its first class in 1941; the original FDR HS may be the only public high school in the United States built under the auspices of, and named for, a sitting president.
