According to an interview conducted with Copperman and appearing on Youtube
, he wrote the song after he was approached by a girl whose beauty "he was blinded by" and he didn't know what to say. He adds that only felt that only he saw the smile she directed to him. He mentions that he went home and wrote it in an hour following the incident.

The video, directed by Frank Borin, starts off with Ross standing on top of a plane with sunset in the background. After the ending of the first chorus we see Ross' love interest and most of the video henceforth switches between him singing and playing the piano with the band in the background and between him chasing her.Track listings
