Critical reception

In his review of Lines, Vines and Trying Times, Bill Lamb of About.com criticized the song, mainly the instrumental and genre differences between it and preceding tracks causing Lines to have poor flow. He said, "[W]ith the piano, harp and chimes [sic] sounds [...] we begin an ultimately annoying program of guess which new instruments and even new genre we'll attempt on the next track."
