Finding Kraftland

Finding Kraftland is a 2006 independent documentary from Richard Kraft productions starring Stacey J. Aswad, Richard Kraft, and Nicky Kraft. It was released on June 17, 2006 in many film festivals all over the United States.

Plot

Finding Kraftland looks at the bonding between a son and father. The story line develops when Richard Kraft, going through a divorce where his son Nicky lives with his ex-wife two thirds of every year and Richard one third of every year, start traveling the world riding roller coasters and meeting famous people. The movie takes a serious twist when Kraft discovers he has Crohn's Disease, which killed his brother years earlier. Richard starts collecting in his honors. First, he starts collecting movie soundtracks — and then posters, restaurant knick-knacks and James Bond

 collectibles. Finally, Richard goes to Disneyland but he won't go to Disneyland to get something small like a Mickey Mouse

models. Richard transformed his home into Kraftland. Richard and Nicky started to help people with Crohn's Disease all over the world until Richard finds out that he has Crohn's Disease. Richard finds out that he is not going to die like his brother so he still lives a happy life. Every year Richard and Nicky have a big birthday party because their birthdays are two days apart and tons of people come every year. The film ends with Nicky playing a song he wrote, called "The Kronicles of Kraftland".

Sequels

Richard Kraft and his son Nicky have expressed interest in making two sequels to Finding Kraftland. In an interview, Nicky joked, "[...]the second one will be called Selling Kraftland. At the end of that movie, Richard dies and becomes Obi-Wan Kenobi for the third movie, where I raise my son and he gives me ghostly words of wisdom from beyond the grave." When asked if sequels to Finding Kraftland were seriously being considered, Richard responded, "Oh, absolutely! You can’t have lived this and then go, 'Well, that was the end of it!'"
