FEMS, the Federation of European Microbiological Societies is an international European scientific organization, formed by the union of a number of national organizations; there are now 50 members, regular and provisional.

It is the sponsor of FEMS Microbiology, originally a single journal, but now a group of 5 titles:
  • FEMS microbiology letters
  • FEMS microbiology reviews
  • FEMS immunology and medical microbiology
  • FEMS microbiology ecology
  • FEMS yeast research
