History

Extra was first launched by Wrigley in 1984. Back then, sugar free gum was still fairly new so Extra was one of the first brands to use sugar substitutes, giving it a longer taste duration. In 2007, Extra received the American Dental Association's Seal of Acceptance, proving that its gum helps to strenghthen teeth, fight cavities, and reduce the amount of acid wear. In 2008 Extra launched its Slim Pack, holding 15 sticks per pack. Extra sells to many countries around the world including Australia, Canada, China, Germany, Hong Kong, New Zealand, Norway, and Taiwan.
