, and was founded in 1909. Its mascot is the blue devil. It is currently housed in the third building of the schools history. Etowah has a very outstanding athletic program. They are a 3-time champion in baseball (1985, 1987 & 1996), a 2-time champion in football (1950 & 1999) and a 1-time champion in basketball (1948). It is the high school of NFL star Carnell "Cadillac" Williams, current Ole Miss defensive coordinator Tyrone Nix, and current Charleston Southern wide receiver coach Patrick Nix

The new building replaced the old one in recent years, the 2002 year book actually containing a part called "Decrepit School" and showing off the damage inflicted to the building in recent years.

Part of the changes at Etowah High include its change from being a combination county-city school system to a "city only" school. This change effectively dropped the school's enrollment from over 1,000 in the mid and late 20th century. The current enrollment is now between 400 and 500.
