Erie is a Statutory Town in Boulder and Weld counties in the U.S. state of Colorado. The estimated population according to the 2010 US Census is 18,135 and was recorded as 6,291 at the 2000 census. The Town of Erie is located just west of I-25 for easy access to I-70, Denver International Airport...

. Erie is a part of the Saint Vrain Valley School District.

It was completed in 2005 and began operation in the fall of that year. The school was formed by the separation of Erie Middle & High School. Currently there are 700+ students attending the school, with 200 freshmen the 2009 / 2010 school year has the biggest freshmen class ever in Erie.

The building itself was designed to honor the town of Erie's mining history, as the color scheme is of the color of coal.

Steven Payne is the principal of the school and has been since 2001.

Erie High School is nationally known for its softball team which has many state championships to its credit.
