. It has an enrollment of about 1,500 students. Enterprise High School is part of the Shasta Union High School District in the Redding area.

Administration

Mr. Eric Peterson is the principal of the school. He is in his 4th year as principal after serving 7 as Vice Principal. He is the husband of Shelle Hill Peterson, the principal of the school from 2001-2003.

Keith Turner is one of the assistant principals, he is in his 4th year at the school after serving at as AP at Shasta High School for 8 years.

Mrs. Rebecca Berg is the new assistant principal, having just started in August 2009.

Academics

Enterprise High School is a state recognized distinguished school in California. The foreign languages offered are French, Spanish and Mandarin Chinese, and there is also a drama department. Enterprise currently offers Honors and Advanced Placement Courses in: English I, English II, English III, English IV, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, World History, U.S. History, American Government/Economics, Statistics, Trigonometry, Calculus, and Spanish.

Due to the low socio-economic status of Enterprise, test scores are reflective of that status. Contrary to popular belief, however, Enterprise ranks a 10 out of 10 when compared to schools of similar size. Other school in the district rank much lower when compared to school of equivalent size and socio-economic status.
Enterprise also has an extensive and broad College Preparatory program. Every subject is offered in CP level, acceptable to the University of California and California State University systems.

The Music Department

Enterprise High School is known for its marching and concert bands, which have been directed by Daniel Neece since the 1980s. Neece also directs the “Starship” program, a pop-oriented music program which gives well-known performances in Redding and elsewhere. The music department also features a choir program directed by Deborah Divine. Under her direction the choirs in the traditional choral program have received "Superior Ratings" for twenty consecutive years. Enterprise is also the home of the award winning vocal jazz choir "T.B.A." This fine ensemble has won numerous awards in competition over the years and was recognized by Down Beat
Down Beat
Down Beat is an American magazine devoted to "jazz, blues and beyond" to indicate its expansion beyond the jazz realm which it covered exclusively in previous years. The publication was established in 1934 in Chicago, Illinois...

 magazine in 2003 as the top Student Vocal Jazz Group of the year. Enterprise is also the home of the "Victorian Dinner Celebration" now in its 19th year of sold-out performances. This original dinner/play set in a Victorian Christmas holiday venue offers audience members an unforgettable evening of comedy, delicious food, and beautiful vocal and instrumental music. Both Neece and Divine have been recognized as the California Music Educator Association (CMEA) "Educator-Of-The-Year" in 2006 and 2007 respectively.

River bowl

Every October, Enterprise and their main rivals, Shasta, play in a celebrated game called the River bowl. The Hornets and the Wolves have been playing for the bowl for 15 years. After Enterprise winning the Riverbowl every year, Shasta finally took the River bowl in 2005. However, Enterprise won the River bowl back on October 13, 2006 with a score of 10-0 the first shut out in River Bowl history . On October 12, 2007, a great and close game was played with the conclusion of Shasta winning the River bowl back with a score of 17-24. The overall score of wins for the last 15 years is 12-3, with Enterprise in the lead. Then on October 17, 2008, Enterprise served up another extremely close game and won the Bowl back from Shasta with a score of 38-35.
As of 2009 The River bowl score was 33-20 with in favor of Enterprise.
They lost this years 2010 river bowl against Shasta with a score of 20-53 Shasta being the favored team.

Clubs

Enterprise clubs take a huge role in the Enterprise and Redding community. To occupy students during lunch and other times, various clubs make up the whole school for fun and planning.
