History

On April 20, 2007, the Engineering Laboratory design was unveiled at Marshall University's Alumni Weekend . Construction on the $3.5 million facility is expected to begin in August and be completed by fall 2008. It is part of Phase I of the future Engineering Complex.

It will consist of 16000 sq ft (1,486.4 m²). and feature,
  • a control lab,
  • an environmental lab,
  • a structures lab,
  • a materials lab,
  • a soils lab,
  • a machine shop,
  • a balance Room,
  • and a visualization center.


The Engineering Laboratory is Phase I of the future Engineering Complex that will be constructed north of 3rd Avenue. Another larger structure is planned east of the Laboratory.

Hager Construction LLC of Huntington, WV was the general contractor for the project.
