Enantiostasis
Enantiostasis is the ability of an open system, especially a living
organism, to stabilize and conserve function in spite of an unstable environment.
Unlike in
homeostasis, where the metabolic and physiological function is maintained by maintaining the internal biochemical state, systems undergoing enantiostasis alter their internal state, but continue to fulfill their function.
