The Eminata Group is one of the largest private providers of post-secondary education in Canada. The corporation, based in Vancouver, British Columbia, owns and manages a number of for-profit colleges and universities in Canada.

History

Incorporated in 1987 as Star Education Systems, the corporation changed its name to the Eminata Group in 2003. The background of the company dates back to 1961 when Reeves College was originally formed. The company is led by President and CEO Randy Cox.

Using instructor-led and computer driven programs, Star Education Centre facilitators challenge students to develop deeper understandings of the concepts and skills offered in traditional school. Since joining the Eminata Group in July 2003, the college has expanded its curriculum to include vocational training in the health care sector and the oil and gas industry. In November of 2003, it opened a campus in Edmonton and the Calgary campus opened in 2005, followed by a second Calgary campus in 2007, and a Lethbridge campus opened in May 2008.
