The Guild's definition of embroidery is intentionally unconfining: anything made "using a needle with an eye in it". In 2006 The national guild had 16,000 members organized in 345 local chapters in 13 regions.

Embroidery Museum and Resource Center

The Guild operates the Embroidery Museum and Resource Center in Louisville. The museum features changing exhibit embroidery and related fiber arts, as well as displays from the Guild's permanent collection of over 900 pieces.
