Saganami is known as the father of modern military doctrine for, and the greatest hero of the Royal Manticoran Navy (RMN), and was the first recipient of Manticore's Parliamentary Medal Of Valor (posthumously). The island housing the RMN's main training facility, the Royal Manticoran Naval Academy, on the Kingdom's homeworld of Manticore is named Saganami Island in his memory. The recordings of his final battle are shown at the yearly graduation ceremony of the RMN Academy, as a paradigm of the ideals a RMN officer should strive for.
