Edmonds is a city in Snohomish County, Washington, United States. Edmonds has a view of Puget Sound and both the Olympic Mountains and Cascade Range. The third most populous city in Snohomish County after Everett and Marysville, the population was 39,709 according to the 2010 census...

, which tells the story of Edmonds' history through various temporary and permanent exhibits and which houses a small collection of artifacts pertaining to its local history. It was established in 1973 by the Edmonds Historical Society and the Edmonds City Council. The organization's full name is the Edmonds South-Snohomish Historical Society and Museum, and it is run by a small group of 7 people.

Currently, the museum's permanent exhibit commemorates the 1890/1990 centennial of the town’s incorporation. “The Changing Face of Edmonds” is a chronological history exhibit, telling the story of the town through its various historical stages.

The upper floor of the museum houses its exhibit gallery, which displays rotating temporary exhibits. The museum also has extensive photo archives and a historical library, which the public is able to use for research. There is also a gift shop that sells a variety of Edmonds related gifts, including cards, books and artwork.

Currently, the museum’s temporary exhibit is "A Tribute to Pacific Northwest Native Art and other Cultural Influences" by Richard Brown. This exhibit consists entirely of the wood carvings of Richard Brown, a renowned local wood carver that exemplifies the Pacific Northwest style. Most of the pieces in this exhibit are from private collectors and include many totem poles, as well as pendants and ornately carved walking poles. The museum’s next temporary exhibit will be an antique toy exhibit, beginning in November 2010.

Most visitors to the museum come in the form of local travelers and school groups. To further accommodate school groups and education, the museum has also created “Trunk Tales for the Classroom” which are sent to schools to provide a hands-on, interactive approach to learning about Edmond’s history. In addition to providing the Trunk Tales, The Edmonds Historical Museum hosts and participates in several local community events including the Edmonds Historical Walk and the Edmonds Museum Garden Market (summers). The museum also has special events on Halloween, 4 July and Christmas.
