Early life and education
Ed Wilson holds a bachelor's degree in Finance from the University of Arkansas.
Career
Wilson began his television career in 1980 as a sales trainee for Viacom in New York. He also served as Sales Manager with KATV, the ABC affiliate in Little Rock, Arkansas. He held a series of increasingly responsible positions with Paramount and Viacom, ultimately holding a senior executive position with Columbia TriStar Television Distribution. In 1994 Wilson founded MaXaM Entertainment in partnership with A.H. Belo Corp.. The company was sold in January 1996 to CBS and Mr. Wilson and his team formed Eyemark Entertainment and took management control of CBS Enterprises.
He became President of NBC Enterprises in August 2000, launching NBC into the domestic syndication business. He left in 2004 to become President of Fox Television. There, he was responsible for supervising all business aspects of the network and worked closely with Fox Entertainment Group on business development opportunities for the network. Wilson left Fox in February 2008 to join Tribune Broadcasting.
Mr. Wilson currently sits on The Board of Trustees for Southern Methodist University. He is a national board member of the United Service Organizations (USO), ThinkLA and The Alliance for Children's Rights.
