Early life

He was born on 11 September 1957 in Abadan

 and was began his playing career with playing in the youth team of Sanat Naft in 1972. He was joined to the senior team in 1974.

Playing career

After playing for Sanat Naft for three years, he became one of the famous player of the team but left the club in 1976 and was joined to the Shahbaz  reaching the third place in the Iranian league

Coaching career

In 1994, Ghasempour was returned to the Pas as a player-manager and was managed the team until 1995. After he was retired from playing in the club, he was appointed as head coach of B team of Pas club and was selected again as head coach of Pas in 1997 but was resigned after six months to become head coach of Iran national under-23 football team

. He was sacked in 1999. Two months after he was sacked from Iran Olympic team, he was returned again as head coach of Pas. He was appointed as head coach of Sanat Naft in July 2001 and was managing the team until February 2002. Bargh Shiraz signed a contract with Ghasempour in February 2002 and was head coach until December 2002. He became head coach of United Arab Emirates
