Eastern Idaho Technical College was originally named Eastern Idaho Vocational Technical School. It received Northwest Accreditation in 1982 in order to become eligible for federal aid programs. The first accreditation team was led by Catherine Jones and included the following department heads: Allen King, Dwayne Killian, Rose Mary Petty, and Kitty Seih, The School's Director was John Christopherson.
