Facilities

Eaglecrest High School is a public high school with an enrollment of 2450 students in grades 9 through 12.

Academics

Eaglecrest holds a variety of rigorous Advanced Placement courses for its students. Eaglecrest also holds many foreign languages for the students such as Spanish, Japanese, French, German, and Latin. Eaglecrest was rated "High" by the Colorado Department of Education Since 2006 and also has been ranked by Newsweek as one of the Top 1000 schools. Since 2000, Eaglecrest's library program has been honored as a Colorado High Performance Library, and continues to be so today.

School Life

As of April 17, 2009, enrollment at Eaglecrest is 2339 students, of whom 49.8% are male and 50.2% are female. The ethnic breakdown is as follows: 59.5% White, 19.0% Black, 13.2% Hispanic, 7.8% Asian/Pacific Islander, and 0.5% American Indian/Alaskan Native.

Athletics

Centennial League; Eaglecrest Raptors, Smoky Hill Buffaloes, Overland Trailblazers, Arapahoe Warriors, Cherry Creek Bruins, Cherokee Trail Cougars, Mullen Mustangs, Grandview Wolves.

Eaglecrest has won a total of 12 State Championships since 1991, the latest being 2008 Varsity Cheerleading taking 1st place.

2002; Eaglecrest Boy's Track & Field wins the school's first track & field championship

2003; Eaglecrest Cheerleading wins the 7th state championship in school history

2005; Eaglecrest's Softball team wins the state championship with a 1-0 win over Rocky Mountain

2006; Eaglecrest's Varsity Volleyball wins the 5A state championship with a Perfect 31-0 undefeated record.

2007; Eaglecrest's Boys Basketball wins the 5A Centennial League Championship & goes to the Final Four 2008 Centennial League Champions, 22-5 Record (11-3 Conference Record)

2007; Eaglecrest's Varsity Volleyball team is the 2007 state runner up after losing to Grandview High School

2008; Eaglecrest's Cheerleading wins the state championship after taking 1st in regionals, and 2nd in League

2008; Eaglecrest Running Back Terrell Thompson shatters the Eaglecrest & Centennial League Records with 399 Rushing Yards alongside 6 TD's in 5A Centennial League Opener, as Eaglecrest won 46-27 over Arapahoe Warriors'.
2010; Eaglecrest's Cheerleadingg wins the state championship after taking 1st in Regionals, and 1st in League

Performing Arts

Eaglecrest has a variety of bands, choirs, dance courses, and holds one play in the fall, a musical in the spring and children shows generally in the middle of May.

In 2010, The upper level performing arts groups performed in a Disneyland performing arts festival.

The choir director of Eaglecrest, Julie Williams, is part of the All-State Choir auditions every fall. The Choir Department holds concerts every quarter, and is known to invite alumni during the winter concert for the song "Sing We Now of Christmas".

The highest women's choir, Cantare, took first place in their division during their trip to Grand Junction and was named "Outstanding 5A Women's Choir".(2010-2011 School Year)

The Dance department at Eaglecrest holds two rigorous dance courses that require auditioning, (Dance Company and Training Company) which both require outside dance classes, and the entire dance department holds concerts for the public every quarter.

Additionally, Eaglecrest is the home of the International Thespian Society Troupe #4999, and has a number of notable Thespians, including International Thespian Officers. Every year, Eaglecrest participates in the Thespian Conference in Denver, Colorado during the month of December.
