Privatisation

The agreement was signed from the Minister of Economy, Trade and Energetic, Genc Ruli and the President of Çalik Holding, Ahmet Çalik, in Tirana. In March, the prime ministers of Albania and Turkey, Sali Berisha and Recep Tayyip Erdogan greeted each-other upon a symbolic "ALO” which opened officially the communication of Eagle Mobile, the company which carries the symbol of Albania and Albanians, the Eagle.
Eagle Mobile put a new record by entering in the Albanian market of telecommunication on March 12, 2008. In a very short period of 6 months, Eagle Mobile covered the entire territory of the country by exceeding the limits of speed and predictions. On December 31, 2008, the company attained coverage by 97% of the population of the country and 90,7% of the territory of the country by providing services in the whole Albania.
Eagle invested 70 million Euro in these three years, giving the job possibilities to around 1000 Albanian professionals, the majority of them women. With the network made by 377 base stations Eagle has the best coverage with 91.2 percent of the territory and 98.1 percent of population. We are everywhere even in Valbona, Tomorr or Kalimash Tunnel.

Eagle was well received by Albanian people. Eagle family has now more than 870.000 members all around Albania. This means that the company increased 40% the number of subscribers in the last 12 months. Also the income of Eagle increased with 18% compared with the situation one year ago. On 2010 the total market revenue share of Eagle increased to 12 %. Eagle Mobile offers the best services throughout its shop network with 75 shops in every corner of Albania. With Eagle Mobile, Albania started using internet on the mobile phones. Mobile internet was a luxury and totally unknown for Albanian people and especially for the youth. Now 35 % of Eagle subscribers use internet every day in their smart phones and the percentage is increasing.
The powerful entrance and the preparation at record time of Eagle Mobile operator in the market would mean very much for the Albanians which were looking forward to the collapse of the duopoly situation in the Albanian market. Now the guaranteed success of Eagle Mobile has been obvious in various declarations of the personalities and different state institutions and those of the telecommunication area in the country and more. Eagle Mobile is managed by Orhan Coşkun, CEO of the company. Eagle Mobile is a youth company. Over 270 employees have been employed in this company, whereas 150 other work for Eagle Mobile through the sub contractual companies. The network of Eagle shops has reached to 50 and distributor one is obviously extended. 95% of the employees are Albanians and only 5% of foreigners.

Services

The company had a big success in the market with ProRing, RiniRing and LIFE Packages. For the first time the postpaid and prepaid numbers have been combined in one solely group, and this constitutes a new practice in Albania.
Eagle Mobile brought for the first time for the Albanians the EDGE technology, the fastest service of the internet in the mobile phone at 2.5G technology and now the company is ready for it, the most recent technology 3G, in attendance of the license.
Eagle Mobile has brought in Albania the most recent mobile technology and of course the most contemporary services in the country. Some of the latest services launched in Albania from this company are: Mobile TV, in which Eagle subscribers may be able to watch 10 TV native and foreign channels of direct signal and also to be acquainted with the latest videos launched in the field of cinema. “Eagle Eye” diversely called Vehicle Tracking System which has to do with the supervision of vehicles wherever they are and also to check the fuel, consumption, speed etc.

News service

“News as it happens” is another practice that Eagle Mobile has projected in collaboration with the biggest Agency of news in the country ATA (Albanian Telegraphic Agency). Now, all the customers can be informed through SMS messages on the latest news of the country and world. Each morning the customer can be informed on the rate exchange and weather forecast.
Eagle Mobile achieved at record time the full roaming service. The company has Roaming service in more than 200 countries with 470 operators.
Eagle Mobile advertisements have not been simply commercial messages, they have also been a support for the Albanian image and its tourism

Projects for the Albanians

Eagle Mobile has undertaken projects in the field of social responsibility since the first days of the launch in the market. Orphan children have been on the focus of the company during 2009, and this year has been called “Year of Orphan Children” for this company.
In frame of the social responsibility, Eagle Mobile has begun the project “Business in Aid of Orphan Children". Despite the big contribution that this company has given and continues to give, it has been an example for other 25 companies expressing their contribution according to their area and possibilities.
The most important part of the orphan children project is the education of 20 orphan children and youths in high schools and universities. 10 of them shall study in the best colleges of the country, whereas 10 other youths shall attend the university studies in some of the most well-known private universities in Albania. Some of these children are sons and daughters of the officers and policemen fell in their duties.
Some 100 orphans could enjoy the most unforgettable moments on May 20, on the Day of Orphan Children at Taiwan Complex in Tirana, whereas 10 children of the policemen fell in their duties were sent in Istanbul on June 1. They have been welcomed from Mr. Ahmet Çalik, the President of Çalik Group in his residency in Istanbul.
