, where he earned a degree in accounting, graduating with honors in 1969. His first job out of college was working with the accounting firm of Ernst and Whinney. In 1979 he joined Coca-Cola, and in 1981 he became a vice-president with the company. Among other awards and honors, he received the Horatio Alger Award. "Never let your memories be greater than your dreams" is one of his famous sayings.
