Serbian aggression on Divič

During the Serbian aggression on Bosnia and Herzegovina (92-95) many of the locals of Divič were killed only because they were Bosniaks and all the others were expelled from their homes. Many of the men died in incidents in the Dom Kultura prison camp in Čelopek

During the war the Serbs changed the name of Divič to Sveti Stefan. When the war ended the survivors began to return to their homes. The place was renamed back to Divič. Today in Divič there lives between 350-400 people.

Football match in support of refugee return

In Divič six members of Bosnia's national soccer team on 2 June 2009 played in a symbolic match between two clubs Drina 93 and Mladost Divič, organized to boost refugee return. Thousands of Muslim Bosnian returnees came to watch the match.
