Die Taalkommissie is an arm of the Suid-Afrikaanse Akademie vir Wetenskap en Kuns (South-African Academy for Science and Arts) that serves as the language regulator of the Afrikaans

 language. It was founded in 1914 as die Spellingkommissie (The Spelling Commission) and renamed in 1964.

Its current chairman is Ernst Kotzé.

The Language Commission is most famous for producing the Afrikaanse Woordelys en Spelreëls (Afrikaans Word List and Spelling Rules), which serves as the official dictionary
