himself for the tears of 'Mata Puloma', wife of the respectable Rishi 'Bhrugu', and mother of Rishi Chavyan. 'Vadhusar' is a combination of two Hindi words 'VADHU' and 'ASHUR' which mean in English 'Tears of Daughter-in-law'.The story in Mahabharat goes, that once a Raakshass (Devil) was troubling 'Ma Puloma' wife of Bhrugu Rishi, when he was out of his hut. Despite Ma Puloma's requests when the Raakshass did not budge, Ma Puloma approached Lord Brahma to complain against the Devil. Ma Puloma was crying profusely and tears flowed continuously through her eyes. When she was narrating the incident to Brahama ji a river appeared on the site and Brahama ji named the river as 'VASUDHARA' river. This river 'Vadhusara' flowed near the Dhosi Hill. The Ashram of Bhrugu rishi, who has maximum contributions to the Sanskriti Books, like Rig Veda, Manu Samriti, Tattriya Upnishad etc., was located on the banks of this river. So the word 'Dhusar' or 'Dhusars' are derived from the word Vadhusar and are used for the people who lived on the banks of Vadhusara river.
