Denyse was born to a farming family in Meagher's Grant and studied radio and television broadcasting at NSCC (Nova Scotia Community College.) Denyse has four children. Sibley has run several marathons for the Arthritis Society and is a certified personal trainer.

A pilot since 1997, she serves on the Debert Flight Centre's Board of Directors and has accompanied such flight teams as the US Navy's Blue Angels
