Denstone railway station is a closed station on the Churnet Valley railway, which served the village of Denstone in Staffordshire.

History

The Churnet Valley railway was authorised on 26 June 1846 and opened on 13 July 1849. It generally followed the course of the former Uttoxeter Canal
Uttoxeter Canal
The Uttoxeter Canal was a thirteen-mile extension of the Caldon Canal running from Froghall as far as Uttoxeter in Staffordshire, England. It was authorised in 1797, but did not open until 1811. With the exception of the first lock and basin at Froghall, it closed in 1849, in order that the...

, as it was built to transport goods previously transported along the canal. It closed to passengers on 4 January 1965.
