Development

Dead or Alive 5 is the first console installment of the series that will be developed without the input of series creator Tomonobu Itagaki

The first trailer of a pre-alpha build of the game was shown at the Tokyo Game Show on September 14, 2011. The trailer showcased Ryu Hayabusa

and Hayate. The trailer showcases the more intricate environmental interaction as well as a new attack of Hayate. A teaser image was also released at the event, with producer Yosuke Hayashi stating that the image represents the sensuality that the game is now seeking to portray in a more sophisticated tone.

Producer Yosuke Hayashi and his team are committed to making the environment more involved in the fighting experience than ever before. "We wanted to bring that into the modern gameplay and update that into modern action elements. Now you're able to focus on different ares of where you want to launch your opponent and we have several different sorts of dynamic attractions in the stage so that players can enjoy that sort of aspect even more."
