Crush 40 is the second album of Crush 40
, released by Frontiers Records
. The album contains the same music as their previous album, Thrill of the Feel
, with the same racing theme of the songs written for NASCAR Arcade. However, this album excluded the previous album's instrumental tracks and added "Live and Learn", "It Doesn't Matter", and "Escape from the City". Jun Senoue
, guitarist of Crush 40, claimed that Crush 40 was the project of himself and the band's vocalist, Johnny Gioeli
, which is why the instrumental tracks were removed. There were, however, two bonus tracks included that did not include Gioeli: "It Doesn't Matter" with vocalist Tony Harnell
, and "Escape from the City" with Ted Poley
and Tony Harnell. Senoue's rationale for including the latter two songs was that he wanted to introduce some of his favorite songs featuring other singers to the fans.
Additional personnel
Shibata and Homma played the bass guitar and drums, respectively, for all of the tracks except for "Live and Learn" and "Escape from the City". Taneda played the bass guitar for these tracks, and Katsuji played the drums. This was due to a line-up change in Crush 40 between the initial releases of these songs.
