There is a large area of Colwyn Bay called Eirias Park there and an ancient road from Eirias to the hilltop village of Llanelian called Groes Road. It is believed but not confirmed that the catholic martyr Blessed William Davies

was born at Groes yn Eirias in 1555. Nothing is left of the original hamlet and the area is now referred to as the Glyn estate. The Glyn farm house dating to circa 1640 still exists as three private dwellings.
