Biography

On July 20, 2008, Owens attempted to overdose on prescription Xanax in his Michigan home. Owens stated he had been suffering from manic depression, bipolar disorder, and anxiety attacks.

Owens also stated afterward that he had not suffered any permanent physical damage from the incident and that he couldn't wait to embark on his next tour with Chiodos. Owens had booked over 300 Chiodos concerts before the group was signed to Equal Vision Records.

On December 15, 2008, a new side project was revealed to be called Isles & Glaciers

Isles & Glaciers made their first live debut at the 2009 SXSW showcase show in Austin, Texas, which was presented by Alternative Press. At the show, the band announced that they have finished recording their debut EP and that it was to be released sometime in the summer of 2009.

Departure from Chiodos

On September 24, 2009, Chiodos announced that they had parted ways with Craig Owens. The band released a statement that read as follows:

Out of respect for all of the hard work that we have put in together for all of these years we will not be discussing the specific reasons that this needed to happen. We wish Craig well . Movie career

Craig Owens announced that he would be missing a few dates of Vans Warped Tour to pursue his acting career; he will be appearing in an upcoming movie. Neither he nor D.R.U.G.S. played on the 17th, 19th, and 20th of July. The rest of the band, however, still attended Vans Warped Tour, doing signings. Owens told fans attending to keep their ticket stubs for three shows in the future to make up for the missing dates. Owens said that he and the band would continue playing Vans Warped Tour on the 21st of July.
