Dexter Mills better known as Consequence, is an American rapper. He is the cousin of rapper Q-Tip
of the hip hop group A Tribe Called Quest
, and was formerly an affiliate of Kanye West
's GOOD Music family. Consequence debuted in 1996 on A Tribe Called Quest's album Beats, Rhymes, and Life. In 2007 he released his debut album Don't Quit Your Day Job!.

. He went on to appear on West's second album. In 2005, Kanye signed Consequence to his label GOOD Music
through a deal with Columbia Records
. In 2007, Consequence released his debut album, Don't Quit Your Day Job!. Singles from the album were "Callin' Me" and "Grammy Family". The album sold over 7,000 copies in its first week.
Since the release of his debut album, he has begun working on his second album, which was initially titled You Win Some, You Lose Some, though was recently changed to Cons TV. The first single off the album Cons TV was "Whatever U Want", which featured Kanye West

In May 2011, Consequence confirmed that he had dissolved his partnership with Kanye West and G.O.O.D. Music alleging he was not receiving credit for his work and that his sophomore release had been delayed due to a lack of progress from alleged producers West and his cousin Q-Tip
. Consequence confirmed he had started his own label, Band Camp Records.
