. The population of Clyde River is 618 (2006 census). Clyde River is located in Queen’s County in the central part of Prince Edward Island and just 15 minutes away from the Charlottetown. The original community name was Dog River (Changed to Clyde River somewhere around 1864). It was named after the River Clyde in Scotland. Heritage is predominantly Scottish and English.
