 resident, Greenshields attended Toormina High School, who compete every year in the Robbie MacKinnon Cup against other local schools of the Coffs Harbour district. His junior club was the Sawtell Panthers JRLFC, a club recently crowned Group 2 senior champions.

Greenshields has proved one of the best signings in Super League during his stint in the south of France. He has not missed a single Super League fixture for the dragons, and his superb defensive efforts have been the backbone of the side. He has twice been voted player of the season by the UK-based Dragons e-zine sang-et-or.

On 10 May 2008 it was announced that Greenshields has signed a new three-year contract with the French Super League club.
