Company Background

CityFibre Holdings was incorporated to buy troubled H2O Networks alongside the other UK assets of the i3 Group including Fibrecity Holdings in January 2011. In April 2011, working with KBC Bank, CityFibre concluded the restructure of the business which resulted in H2O Networks being put into administration. KBC Bank owns an option of 5% of CityFibre Holdings.

A builder of passive optical fibre infrastructure, CityFibre operates in two distinct fibre to the premises (FTTX) markets: point to point and fibre to the home infrastructure.

Point to point builds deliver dedicated, high capacity fibre networks operating at Gigabit speeds for local authorities, police forces, healthcare organisations, universities and businesses. Fibrecity builds the passive network to order for the customer to light themselves or it partners with a service provider to deliver lit services.

Products

CityFibre builds dark fibre to the premises (FTTX) infrastructure for telecom, content, media and service providers. It also builds networks for public sector organisations and businesses in the UK. It has three main product areas:
  • Point to point networks - CityFibre currently manages over 100 point to point fibre projects under long-term contracts with local authorities, police forces, healthcare organisations and universities.

  • Metro fibre optic rings - It operates 8 separate metropolitan rings covering a total population exceeding 2,000,000 people, over 57,000 businesses and more than 300 data centres.

  • Fibre to the home (FTTH)

Projects
