 or to consider possible government solutions. Most proposals regarding citizen oversight have been with respects to police activities.

Such proposals have been suggested at least since the 1970s, however those that apply to police misconduct or government corruption have universally been met with resistance from authorities and have never gained traction.

Some citizen oversight proposals have been adopted with regards to government solution brainstorming.
