Playing career
McPhail showed promise as a youngster winning MVP on several occasions with the Canberra Phoenix. McPhail started playing for the Knights in 2008 and won rookie of the year after registering 2 points. McPhail is the youngest member of the Knights squad, being only 17. He is currently in his last year of school at Daramalan CollegeDaramalan College
