History of Chibabava

In the area which is today known as Chibabava, there lived a man whom the Portuguese found when they first arrived. The man's name was "Chibhabha", and he was the chief of the area. This name was difficult for the Portuguese to spell, so they spelled it as "Chibabava". The area became known as Chibabava.
