Two main political parties Awamileague and BNP representative serving Chhatak since 1996. Current MP Muhibur Rahman Manik is representing Awamileague. Kalim Uddin Ahmed Milon of BNP served from 2001-2007 as an MP for Chhatak Dowarabazar parliamentary constituency.
