. There are currently approximately 9,000 passenger trips at the Chemult facility each year, per the Oregon Dept. of Transportation. It is not staffed and only consists of a platform structure and a warming shelter, and is the subject of much criticism as being too small.
Trains must make a double stop at the station because the cement platform is so short.

Of the seven Oregon stations served by Amtrak, Chemult was the sixth busiest in FY2010, boarding or detraining an average of approximately 25 passengers daily.

New station

A new Chemult station was built on the site during 2010. The new station cost $600,000 and was built in the Cascadian architecture style. Construction began in May 2010 and was completed in November, in time for a 10 November opening.
