Spotlight

Recently, an art teacher (Sandra Hadsock) has gained national spotlight for striking a student in self-defense, after being forced into a corner. She has taught at Central High School since the doors have opened about 22 years ago, and was voted Teacher of the Year in 2010. She doesn't regret the incident, but rather, is unhappy that she had to be put in a position where she felt it necessary to do such. She wants to continue teaching, because it is what she loves, but no decision has been made yet by the Hernando County School Board on whether she can return.

In 2006 and 2010 Central High's NJROTC was honored by being The Most Outstanding Unit in the Nation. In 2005, 2008, 2009, and 2011 it was honored as the 2nd Most Outstanding Unit in the Nation by the Navy League of the United States!
