. Before joining City, Cathal was previously cross-channel at Ipswich Town F.C. after joining from local Irish side Ballincollig and was a member of Ipswich's 2004-2005 F.A. Youth Cup winning team, scoring both goals in the first leg of the final against Southampton F.C.'s academy. Lordan has represented the Irish national side from under 13-18 level. He has also represented Ireland with the U-21 Futsal side in the European Championship Qualifiers in 2008.

In July 2007, Lordan joined Cork City rivals Waterford United on loan. He was released by Cork at the end of the 2007 season. He subsequently returned to Ballincollig before joining Blarney United
