produced in Tequila, Jalisco, Mexico. The tequila was founded in 2009 by MTV creator and media mogul Robert W. Pittman
and tequila industry expert Bertha González Nieves

It is bottled in hand-engraved crystal decanters using Pepita glass engraving
.
It has also been described as having a “flavor that includes notes of vanilla, undertones of spice, and a hint of pear,” and “unbelievably smooth but has a deep woodsiness as textured as a single malt.”
Serious Eats
writer Paul Clarke described Casa Dragones as having a "delicate nose of lemon peel and honeysuckle, a smooth, silky body and a flavor with the crispness of black pepper but the light richness of vanilla and hazelnuts."
In November 2010, Casa Dragones won the Grand Prix Stratégies du Luxe, a product and packaging design award for luxury brands. This was the first time a Mexican brand and a tequila had won this award.
CEO and Co-Founder Bertha Gonzalez was also featured in the 5@5 column on CNN’s Eatocracy, citing ”Five Things You Should Look For in a Great Tequila.”
CNN also interviewed founder Bob Pittman about how creating Casa Dragones was similar to launching MTV.
BlackBook Magazine named Casa Dragones “a singular small-batch spirit that’s been leading discerning drinkers around the world to give tequila a second look.”
Casa Dragones was named by wine expert Christian Navarro as his favorite new spirit in December, 2009.

Casa Dragones is marked by its exceptionally smooth taste. Academia Mexicana de Catadores de Tequila (Mexican Academy of Tequila Tasters) wrote in their 2009 tasting notes that Casa Dragones is “soft and smooth with hints of vanilla and spiced undertones, balanced with delicate notes of pear.”It has also been described as having a “flavor that includes notes of vanilla, undertones of spice, and a hint of pear,” and “unbelievably smooth but has a deep woodsiness as textured as a single malt.”

In May 2010, Bertha Gonzalez Nieves was recognized in LA Times Magazine as the first woman to be named a Maestra Tequilera and for “bolstering the top-tier-tequila movement.”In November 2010, Casa Dragones won the Grand Prix Stratégies du Luxe, a product and packaging design award for luxury brands.
