Carol Ann Mooney Quotations

  • “Apart from my family, Saint Mary’s has been the single greatest influence on the shape of my adult life. I received an excellent education, and it wasn’t just about Chaucer and Spenser and Milton, as much as I love them. It was about understanding the place of my Catholic faith in my own adult life and in the modern world. It was about learning confidence in my abilities and realizing that I could be a leader.”
  • “We alumnae know what a profound mark the College has made in our personal and professional lives. As an academic, I know that mark is tied to the fact that Saint Mary’s is associated with excellence and a holistic education—one that involves an experience tied to small class size, personal attention, and a focus on the intellectual, social, and spiritual development of each student. It is my privilege to serve as the next president, building on the College’s tradition of excellence and expanding her national reputation.”
