Cannon Falls is known in the area as a "drug town," as several houses have been raided within city limits and several methamphetamine labs have been confiscated. It was also the temporary home of Dale Jenson, who is responsible for the kidnapping and death of 3-year-old Jessica Swanson in 1998.
