Mission Statement (last reviewed in 2005)
On January 5, 2011, the CNA partnered with the Canadian Community Newspapers Association (CCNA) to create one strong industry voice for newspapers in Canada. The two organizations are now co-managed by one CEO under the name Newspapers Canada (Journaux Canadiens in French) but remain governed by two separate boards of directors in order to preserve the uniqueness of the programs and services offered to daily and community members. Each association offers different membership options for newspapers, organizations and individuals affiliated with the industry. Combined, the CNA and CCNA represent over 830 daily, weekly, and community newspapers in every province and territory in Canada.

The two associations co-host an industry conference entitled INK+BEYOND in a different Canadian city each year. The conference program includes a line-up of speakers, training sessions, social events, exhibitors, awards galas and an exhbitor trade show.
